Our Heavenly Father God can at times seem rightfully overwhelmingly ________ (fill in the attributes). The contrast between His Power, Grace, Holiness, Love and ours; when we really consider it screams “I am not worthy!”
Rightfully so, because in Him resides all of the goodness we are simply incapable of standing its shadow.
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
While we are constantly experiencing the revelation of His Love for us, the unmistakable differences can potentially make God seem unapproachable. After all this passage above clearly tells us it is too great to understand fully His Love. And as our understanding of how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His Love is grows, comparison becomes more and more absurd.
But while we do need to offer up appropriate honor, glory, and respect to God; to harbor this spirit of timidity runs counter to God’s desire and purpose.
Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
So, ask yourself, just how do you align timidity ‘with come boldly before throne of God’? The correct answer is that you can’t! Within that framework, perhaps we need to wrap our thinking around the solitary fact that God love you! Not just a little, no He isn’t enamored with your endearing qualities, or merely affectionate towards you. God Loves You!
Loves you with a passion beyond our understanding. The ultimate power in the universe, the Deity whose love we have zero possibility of comprehending; is focusing all that love on you!
The amazing adventure we all have before us is to understand more and more each passing day just what that means as He constantly pours out His Love to us; demonstrated in every blessing, every act of discipline He is forced to teach us with, every provision He sits before us.
Big Daddy God Loves you!!!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
I know referring to God as “Big Daddy” might seem a bit outside of decorum, but what I want you to understand is God love us more than any parent, spouse, or sibling can. In return He longs for our affection, He longs to wrap us in His arms and be the biggest, most awesome, most loving daddy (Father) you can’t even fathom.
So with that liberty taken let me paraphrase John 3:16 in order to bring this home…
