Fight the good fight for the faith; take hold of eternal life that you were called to and have made a good confession about in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12 (HCSB)
I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a temple of sacrifice. If I close the sky so there is no rain, or if I command the grasshopper to consume the land, or if I send pestilence on My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:12-14 (HCSB)
Note from Kip…
Right here; right now! God says I have chosen this place for Myself as a temple.
Despite any and all things going on about, God has placed us here; now; for His purpose.
Humbly praying for His abundant Grace in our most troubling times. Yes, he calls us to repentance; to turn away from that which would not glorify Him, but he promises that he will hear, forgive us, and heal.
The last verse in this passage, is often quoted by itself. While not really taken out of context when it is isolated from he rest of this passage; standing alone we miss the entire message God has for us here.
You may be troubled with the state of things. You may feel like there is no opportunity for you to make things better. But God’s planning is perfect. He acts in accordance to His will, and His Grace and mercy is central to His approach with us. Just take this away from this passage:
- No matter where we find ourselves, if we align ourselves with His will, we ARE where He wants us to be.
This doesn’t mean it will be a pleasant situation. It doesn’t mean it is going to be always easy.
It does mean that God wants to use you, and this current situation to Glorify Him and serve His will through us.
- In almost every case there is a lesson that He is imparting on us and if we get caught up in fear and doubt; attempting to struggle free of the situation under our own power, we work against His will and will miss the truth he wishes to teach us.
- If we will humble ourselves, surrender to His will, and place our faith and hope in Him, it doesn’t matter what the situation is; we win. We are triumphal, despite any adversity.
Lord, I call on You; hurry to help me. Listen to my voice when I call on You. May my prayer be set before You as incense, the raising of my hands as the evening offering.
Psalms 141:1-2 (HCSB)
Because He remains forever, He holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore, He is always able to save those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 7:24b-25 (HCSB)
Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (HCSB)
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.
I will be with you when you pass through the waters, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. You will not be scorched when you walk through the fire, and the flame will not burn you.
For I Yahweh your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior”
Isaiah 43:1b-3a (HCSB)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9 (HCSB)
No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.
John 6:44 (HCSB)
