The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13 (NLT)
Note from Kip…
Each new day, the Lord our God sends a message of hope to us, guides us down pathways undiscovered for our growth, nurtures us with His Word and fills us with the joy and love that only a good father can.
Last night was the the opening of 2018 Gridiron Men’s Conference here in Birmingham Alabama. This is the second year that I’ve gone and we got to hear some amazing messages last night.
Delivered with power and irresistible clarity, we were reminded by Lee Strobel that you never can be so far the Lord’s promise that He will not welcome you home. Lee a devote atheist in the years before coming to the Lord, presented a unabashed testimony of the corrupt and debase life he lead in direct opposition to the very concept of there being a God or let alone that He walked this earth and gave Himself for us.
But that this Good Father, revealed Himself even as Lee sought to disprove Jesus’s claim to be God in the flesh.
See, Lee sought.
“Keep asking,, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.“
Matthew 7:7-8 (HCSB)
And the Good Father responded to that seeking by showing the path for Lee away from that self-destructive life to share with others, just how impossible it is that Christ didn’t die for us and rise again!
Then there was Charlie Daniels who shared his testimony with us. This amazingly talented musician, told us that we must be faithful in the truth and then shared what I think was the most amazing renditions I have ever heard of Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art; the two favorite hymns of the artist.
In doing so, the family of God gathered around to worship before the Lord as the Good Father poured out His Love and Grace.
Finally, last night we experienced the Spirit filled message of Tony Evans to made it clear to everyone in the auditorium, that we must dispel others and lead in the Good Fathers kingdom else the nation will perish and lives will be lost eternally.
There again, the Good Father using Tony to shine the light on the path that might otherwise gone unnoticed.
He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He renews my life; He leads me along the right paths for His name’s sake.
Psalms 23:2-3 (HCSB)
The most amazing thing that the Good Father showed me about Himself yesterday evening was that even if I hadn’t gone to the conference, He still would have loved me just as He does, but His blessings on us are multiplied day after day. Because He is a Good, Good Father!
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments and untraceable His ways!
Romans 11:33 (HCSB)
For I, Yahweh your God, hold your right hand and say to you: Do not fear, I will help you.
Isaiah 41:13 (HCSB)
So don’t be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, or of me His prisoner. Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power of God.
He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
2 Timothy 1:8-9 (HCSB)
Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest; then your barns will be completely filled, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
Proverbs 3:9-10 (HCSB)
Now this is the confidence we have before Him: Whenever we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked Him for.
1 John 5:14-15 (HCSB)
