From the glory of the resurrection, Into…

Note: This is a refreshed, re-edited, republish of a devotional from March 27th, 2018.
Something that we fail to realize, but it is clear in the scripture. When we enter that city that is the residence of the Almighty, we will be no longer in these corruptible bodies. We will have been changed in the twinkling of an eye into a form in the likeness of Christ Jesus; the ascended Christ Jesus.
but our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of His glorious body, by the power that enables Him to subject everything to Himself.
Philippians 3:20-21 (HCSB)
We will live with God Himself, and if you realize that God exists outside our constraints of space and time; this means that we also will exist outside of space and time.
Further evidence of this, as if this were not enough is found in the first book of Corinthians.
For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known.
1 Corinthians 13:12 (HCSB)
If you have never picked up on the clarity of this verse before, consider closely what it says now. “I will know fully, as I am fully known.“
Jesus knew us, before He created the earth and the heavens. So then, how is it possible that we will know, just as He knows us? If you consider why, He knew us before creation, was the fact that He and God the Father, exist outside of space and time, and experience all things, all the time; the answer becomes clear.
The obvious connection is that when we are in the presence of the Lord, we will no longer be bound by space and time. We will in fact, exist outside of this bubble we are trapped in, just as God does, and also will experience all things, all the time; resulting in ‘fully knowing‘!
Connecting the dots, Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Boom!
We now exist outside of space time. We know as we are known. We experience all events, all the time. This can be because there is but one time for us at that point and that time is ‘now’! As a result of now occupying all points in linear time (this existence outside space and time), we experience the triumphal return of Jesus to claim His Bride at the very moment we are united with Christ. We experience that along with everything else from all points in time.
If we let our minds carry this to its ultimate conclusion, we would experience Jesus, creating Heaven and Earth!
When the dead in Christ (that would be us if we pass before Christ comes), will rise in their transformed bodies (mentioned earlier in Philippians 3). Because we will exist outside of space and time, this will seem like an instant because, all of this happens in the moment; that moment we are with our Lord and Savior.
Brothers, I tell you this: Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and corruption cannot inherit incorruption. Listen! I am telling you a mystery:
We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the blink of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed. For this corruptible must be clothed with incorruptibility, and this mortal must be clothed with immortality.
1 Corinthians 15:50-53 (HCSB)
We have so very much to look forward to, by the very promise that we will live in eternity with Jesus and the Father. We will live, as we have never lived before. More alive than we have ever been. If this doesn’t totally ch
The transition from ‘God with us’, to ‘God in us’, and finally to ‘Us existing with God’; is the greatest news that could ever be. This is all part of His plan for us. To be forever in His presence. Abiding with Him, in Him, and He in us.
The next time you consider Easter, Christ’s crucifixion, burial, and resurrection, realize the significance of His resurrection beyond just the Messiah being raised from the dead.
Realize that with His resurrection, He forged a way for us to be resurrected to the new life we live as a result of what He’s done. Realize what a gift Jesus giving His life for us on the old rugged cross was. As a result, we are no longer bearing the guilt of sin, when we accept His forgiveness and repent.
But even further, know that by His resurrection, he blazed the means by which we will share eternity with all of the Trinity. The sun rising on Easter morning will never be the same again, and neither should we be the same now, or will we be the same then.
We begin that resurrected life the moment we place our trust in Him for our salvation and redemption.
For I passed on to you as most important what I also received:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (HCSB)
“For I will be known, even as I am known.” That transformation is taking place now in us today, if we yield to the Spirit, living in us. And on that day, we will be raised to the incorruptible in “The Likeness of Christ”
In His Grace,
