It’s pretty amazing being…

August 31st, 2019

I was a bit hesitant about writing in reference to today’s topic, after all, this blog space is dedicated to the Good News of Jesus Christ. My goal with these daily devotionals is to persuade those on the interested fringes, this Jesus, so loved them that he gave himself, so that He could redeem them from sins punishment.

He took that punishment for us and in doing so purchased our freedom from an adjudication which without doubt would otherwise result in eternal death.

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16 (CSB)

Then it hit me! These blog articles (devotionals) are nothing more than a promotion to prompt you my readers into taking full advantage of the greatest gift of all, directly from God’s own Word, delivered by God’s only Son.

I here, promote something that is free for the asking. Requires nothing more than faith in the one who promised that if we believe in Him and what He’s done for us that we can have life everlasting. This IS the Good News; this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He not only wants us to have life eternal, he wants to share that life with us and be our closest companion. He wants us to have this life and have it more abundantly than we could ever imagine.

A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

John 10:10 (CSB)

Short Devotional

My typical devotional will run between 800 and 1600 words. I think the average (which I’ve never really put much thought into calculating run roughly 1350 words or so.

Today, not so much.

I’d much rather that you take to heart the scriptures that I’ve shared with you and consider them deeply as you watch a free movie. Again, I’m promoting something that is free. This movie is based on a book, which is the most printed and most read book in history, save one other book; The Holy Bible.  The book I’m speaking of and the movie that is being offered for free for a limited time is Pilgrim’s Progress.

It was first published in 1678 by John Bunyan. Like the Bible many might think that a book so old would have little use in this modern age of technology and throw away lives. But also like the Bible, John Bunyan unfurls a story about and individual struggling in the world learning that there is more to life than what is visible with the naked eye. Our lives are far from throw away, and we are called to a purpose in love that will not be denied.

Stephen Kendrick said regarding this movie it was… “Like watching an animated version of the Lord of the Rings, with a Christian storyline…”

It is a must see for every person that claims faith in Jesus. It is something everyone else should see if they have questions without answers because this story can become a primer to a hunger to devour the Word of God and draw closer to the author; God Himself!

Register now as it is showing online for free… AUGUST 30TH – SEPTEMBER 2ND.

You can buy the DVD’s but the initial release was sold out in days, so you’ll have to wait for a copy on digital media.

Here is the link to register: https://www.pilgrims.movie/live-event-201908/

This is a short trailer for the movie on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5jzd0nI-Vc&feature=youtu.be

The best story in history is the book spanning from Genesis to Revelation, but I have to tell you, in this case, second best isn’t half bad either and it just might lead you to an interest in becoming more familiar with the best book, and it’s author.
